Why Do We Believe the bible?
1. It is the Word of God
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two- edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Hebrews 4:12
“So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11
2. It is God's Word to Us
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” II Timothy 3:16-17
3. It is by the Word that we Learn of God's Salvation Plan - THE GOOD NEWS OF THE GOSPEL
We are a special creation from the hand of God.
“And God said, let us make man in our image...”
Genesis 1:26a
The human race fell and we are all lost sinners.
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” Romans 3:23
The judgement awaiting all who die in their sins is the firey torment of hell forever.
“Rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.” Mathew 10:28b
We cannot overcome our sin problem on our own.
“As it is written, there is none righteous, no, not one:” Romans 3:10
God provided a Saviour for us when He sent His own Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.
“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: For he shall save his people from their sins.” Matthew 1:21
Salvation for us was purchased when Jesus took the our punishment himself, dying as a substitutionary sacrifice on the cross for all our sins.
“Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree.”
I Peter 2:24a
We must now must repent of our sin and personally trust in the Lord Jesus Christ who died and rose again.
“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: not of works, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8-9
"Behold, now is the accepted time; behold, now is the day of salvation."
II Corinthians 6:2b
Nothing can be more important than our soul. Turn to Christ Today!
"For what shall it profit a man, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul?" Mark 8:36
